Synopsis

Danny Ocean is out on parole and is putting together a crew for his next big score. While planning the team learns, his motives might not be upfront.

Review

Big cast, big performances, and solid story telling. This does have a bit of the “how is this going to play out” in the back and forth story telling, but the pay-off is outstanding.

The cast’s performances is why this movie got 2 sequels and 1 spin off. Clooney and Pit are very good in their roles, and you can see and feel the history they have. If you watch the initial poker scene, you can see they are actually working together, and he isn’t really advising the young celebrities of what to do. He is playing them. I’m going to say something that people will most likely be upset by, when looking at this movie Julia Roberts underwhelming, and I personally have not seen anything that would be different.

I like the story on this. There is a lot of prep in the silliness and the duplicitous actions of Clooney make sense for the character and his real long term goal. I personally think he told Pitt the whole plan, but we just don’t see it.

My Rating

This is a very entertaining movie. Action, comedy, the chase of a girl and lots of money. There are good surprises in the story and some good acting. It is a fun watch. I’m going to give it an 8.

Parental Rating

Some language, no sex, and not really any violence. I know my dad likes Julia Roberts and Clooney in their acting so that is good. My mom also likes them, but this isn’t her movie. I think based on the rules it is going to be approved by Dad and rejected by Mom.
