For instance when Cillian Murphy goes inside the church and the priest comes after him and the piles of bodies just pops up one at a time… that just gets you.

I remember watching this when it came out and being terrified. The idea and speed of the runners, I know a The Last of Us term, but they are crazy. Also the turn rate is something you don't see anymore. Whether it is World War Z, Walking Dead, or whatever, there is always a delay before turning.

The acting in this movie is not the greatest. There are some parts that have aged terribly. There are some parts that do show Cillian Murphy stretching his Oppenheimer wings. Naomie Harris also is outstanding at times. I think most of the others play just an "oh, they are there" type role. The girl is very much just there.

The action is involved. They do a great job of just pushing the infected to the edge of your limits without that feeling of it being constant. My Rating

This is one of the better early 2000s horror films. The gore makes sense to the event. It isn't there just for the sake of being gory. The rage pushes them to be brutal and that is shown on every attack from the infected. I like that even the humans in 4 weeks have lost their minds and are already in survival mode. It is a good story and I look forward to 28 Years Later. I am giving this an 8 for the action and story.

Parental Rating

Not no, but HELL no. Gore is through the roof, literally at times. Language is British so it is all over the place. Lastly there are some scenes of half-naked women with the implication that it will lead to rape. With all of that, it makes this is an easy rejected by both.
